Basic Industry Group
Janney’s Basic Industry Group provides investment banking services to a wide variety of middle market industries and corporations. The group has worked with companies that manufacture and distribute food, steel, jewelry, transportation equipment, apparel, greeting cards, test instruments and numerous other basic industrial products.
The group’s experience includes initial public offerings, secondary offerings, private placement of debt and equity, and merger and acquisition advisory services.

Mr. Pickens joined Janney Montgomery Scott in 1996.
Previously, he was a First Vice President in the
Corporate Finance Department of Wheat First Butcher
Singer.
Mr. Pickens has been responsible for numerous debt and equity financings, both public and private. In addition, he has advised a variety of clients regarding merger and acquisition transactions ranging in size from $20 million to over $300. He has served on the boards of various companies, both public and private.
Mr. Pickens received a B.A. from Kenyon College, a J.D. from Temple University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
