Public Finance - Focus Areas

Janney's public finance experience spans many years and a variety of project types. By concentrating our energies on defined sectors of the public finance domain, we have developed a keen understanding of the financial challenges and peculiarities posed by the many types of issuers and project types within our focus areas.

Our public finance practice focuses on three general areas:

  • Public issuers such as School Districts, Municipalities, Counties, States, Other Governmental/Public Sector Entities, including Utility Authorities, Single-Family and Multi-Family Housing, and economic development agencies including Tax Increment Districts.

  • Nonprofit issuers such as Cultural Institutions, Senior Living Facilities, Hospitals, Independent Schools, Colleges & Universities and other Nonprofit Organizations.

  • Corporate issuers of Industrial Development Bonds and other exempt facility issuers including Solid Waste, Recycling, Water Utility, Landfill, Gas Reclamation, Pollution Control and Transportation.

While the number of project types within these three categories is quite broad, many of the issuers within each category share common financial characteristics and demands which allow us to bring our years of prior experience to bear for our clients. Our commitment to public finance is strengthened by our understanding of the most complex and unique issues faced by issuers of tax-exempt debt.
